Design on Demand, Tom Joyes, 2015-12-09

Design on Demand is a 24 hour studio where critical graphic design meets sweatshop labour performed live over web streaming. Channeling the ideology of inexpensive ‘on demand’ design services such as fiverr.com, we investigated the value of the contemporary designer’s time, whilst asking if there’s a place for quick, radical and conceptual solutions in the commercial market. Clients emailed their demands to the studio on a free ‘take it or leave it’ agreement, watched the progress of their job via webcam streaming and received their solution within an allocated time slot over the 24 hour period.
